JORDAN HOFER

JUNIOR – University of Central Missouri ‘Mules’

Jordan started kicking a ball in youth soccer.  Realizing he had a powerful leg, Jordan contemplated kicking a football instead.  As he grew older, he played flag football and during his freshman year of High School dealt with a very interesting life hurdle.  While at a youth group outing and as boys will do, horsing around playing some pickup football with the other guys, Jordan planted his kicking foot in the wet grass and twisted his leg which caused a spiral fracture in his kicking leg.  6 weeks [all summer] in a full leg cast, and NO football his freshman year in High School.  He came back his sophomore year and due to a difference of position opinion with his High School coach, he was offered a position to play both his Junior and Senior years of high school ball on an Adult League called the AZFL. Arizona Football League.  With two stellar years with the AZFL playing alongside former College and Pro players, Jordan learned lots about teamwork and the heart needed to play.  He was named to the First Team in All-Around Play and was selected to play on the ALL-STAR Teams both years. At this point Jordan knew he could play with the big dogs,

In the summer of 2005, his High School graduation, Jordan did a walk on and was offered a letter of intent with the Scottsdale Community College Fighting Artichokes. He started as their punter in the fall of 2005. He finished his first year of College ball with a 45.9 yard per punt average.

Due to some family events he moved with his family back to the Chicago. Illinois Metro Area where he signed on at Harper Community College to play for the Hawks.  As this was his first season, and they had been grooming another kicker/punter, Jordan was asked to red shirt which allowed him to practice with the team, but not play in any games.  His football playing eligibility stayed in tacked so he would still have his 3 years of football eligibility to play. In the fall of 2007, Jordan became the Hawks starting punter and finished #8 in the country for the NJCAA rankings. He received the 1st Team All-Region ranking for Punter and was also awarded ALL-AMERICAN honorable mention.

He has since found a new school home to complete his schooling with a bachelors degree in Business Management and will also finish out his College football career there. He is now a ‘MULE’ for the University of Central Missouri, in Warrensburg, MO. He received a football scholarship and will be their starting Punter this fall 2008.
